How to Use the Filters and Blank Tiles
WordJumbler finds every word your letters can make, but a big rack can return dozens of matches. The filters help you zero in on exactly the word you're looking for.
Starts With
Type a letter (or a few letters) here to only see words beginning that way. Useful when you already know the first letter you need — for example, if you're extending a word already on a board.
S T A R E P with "Starts with" set to st returns stare, stape, and similar — filtering out everything else.Ends With
Same idea, but for the last letter(s) of the word. Handy for finding words that fit a suffix you need, like -ing or -ed.
ing on a rack containing those letters will surface valid -ing words only.If you fill in both Starts with and Ends with, WordJumbler shows words matching either condition — not just words matching both — so you get a broader net rather than an overly narrow one.
Length
Enter an exact number of letters to only see words of that length. This is especially useful in Scrabble or Words With Friends when you have a specific number of tiles to place, or in a crossword when you know exactly how many letter-spaces you need to fill.
Clearing a filter
Each filter box has a small × button inside it — click that (or tab to it and press Enter) to reset that filter back to blank without needing to manually delete the text.
The Blank Tile Wildcard
Type * or ? as one of your letters to represent an unknown or wildcard tile. WordJumbler will treat it as any letter needed to complete a valid word — exactly like a blank tile in Scrabble.
C * T can match cat, cot, cut, or cit — the wildcard fills in for whichever letter makes a real word.Combine filters and wildcards together for the most targeted results — for instance, a 5-letter word starting with tr using a blank tile for an unknown letter.
